State Rep. Kurt Vail proudly represents the 52nd District, which includes Somers, Stafford, Union, and Woodstock. He was re-elected to his sixth term in November 2024. He currently serves on the Veterans’ & Military Affairs, Commerce, and Human Services committees.
In 2024, Rep. Vail played a key role in securing state resources for the construction of a new public safety communications tower in Somers. He also played an integral role in helping Camp Woodstock expand its operations, strengthening the camp’s viability for years to come.
Prior to serving in the General Assembly, Rep. Vail served on the Stafford Board of Education, the Stafford Downtown Revitalization Committee, and the Recreation Commission. He has also remained active in the community through mentoring and coaching youth sports, including the Stafford High School team.
